Starting with one word like “cake” will work great to find potential keywords to use but using the keyword “cake” would be very competitive and almost impossible to crack.

* Keyword Phrases – Two or more words sometimes put in quotes in a search engine like Google Search and sometimes without quotes to find your product or service. “Cake Recipes” while two words is still very general so we are talking more about “Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipes” than not.

* Keyword Supply & Demand – This refers to a couple of different issues: One – Are many people looking for a specific keyword with very few products showing up to fulfill those keywords? Two – Is the niche already saturated and owned by a specific party, too much supply, and too little demand?

* Keyword Competitiveness – Does the keyword or keyword phrase have a high bidding price or is there very little competition for a specific keyword or keyword phrase, yet many people still looking for it?

    Hi JR

Thanks for the awesome tips. I’ve been trying to research profitable keywords for a new health amazon affiliate site I started. Been struggling to find keywords with low competition.

I think one of the most important things to do when you’re doing keyword research is to look at the “intent” of the searcher. For example, “fitness tips” has high traffic, while “best jogging strollers” much lower. But I’d much rather focus on the lower traffic keyword due to it’s intent because it could lead to a more targeted audience.

Keep up the great work with your site!

I had an idea I wanted to talk to you about but I’ll send you a private message.

    Kindest,

    Mozie
