The Oma Extendable Dining Table from Eikund exemplifies mid-century Norwegian design excellence. Created by Sigurd Resell in the 1950s while at Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor, this sophisticated piece accommodates up to two leaves without requiring additional support legs. Resell, a 1947 graduate of the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry, masterfully balances form and function—pairing a crisp, modern tabletop available in solid wood or Fenix laminate with an organically shaped solid wood framework. This thoughtful juxtaposition of sharp lines and gentle curves creates a dining table of remarkable aesthetic harmony and practical elegance.
