Youth Mini Explorer Backpack
With simple-to-use pocketing and a touch of whimsy, the Youth Mini Explorer Backpack is the perfect blend of kids' aesthetics and real-world functionality.
Sized for Little Explorers
Back panel and shoulder straps are sized for little explorers and preschoolers, and padded for added comfort — a pack that actually fits a small frame instead of swallowing it.
Top-Loader Construction
Top-loader construction with a fleece lid and shaped zipper pulls makes the pack fun and easy to identify, even for tiny hands learning how to open and close zippers on their own.
Zippered Main Compartment
Spacious zippered main compartment swallows a change of clothes, a snack, a water bottle, and a stuffed animal — the everyday haul for preschool, daycare, or a day at the zoo.
Metal-Snap Front Pocket
Metal-snap pocket on the front of the pack adds a second compartment for stashing the small stuff kids want to grab fast — a snack, sunglasses, a found rock.
Two Water Bottle Pockets
Two external water bottle pockets keep drinks and small treasures within easy reach, and double as overflow storage when the main compartment is bursting.
Hook-and-Loop Sternum Strap
Hook-and-loop sternum strap is easy for kids to operate themselves — no fumbling with buckles — and helps the shoulder straps stay put when they take off running.
Top Grab Handle
Top grab handle gives grown-ups an easy hold for handing the pack off at drop-off or hoisting it into a stroller basket, and gives kids a fun way to carry it short distances.
Internal Name Tag
Internal name tag sewn inside the main compartment stops the backpack mix-ups at daycare and after-school care — write a name on the label and the pack always finds its way home.
Reflective Details
Reflective details boost visibility in low-light conditions — early-morning school drop-offs, late-afternoon daycare pickups, and dusk walks home.

Cleaning
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For the inevitable juice-box stain or muddy footprint, hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent — avoid machine washing, which can damage the non-PFC DWR finish and stress the seams beyond what a kid-pack can handle.
Drying
Air dry at room temperature with the main compartment unzipped wide. Avoid machine drying and direct heat, which can shrink the fleece lid and warp the back panel padding.
DWR Refresh
When water stops beading on the 600D polyester body, refresh the non-PFC DWR finish with a spray-on treatment designed for technical fabrics to restore water repellency.
Hardware
Wipe metal snaps and zippers with a dry cloth occasionally to keep them snapping and sliding smoothly. If the hook-and-loop sternum strap loses grip over time, clear it of lint with a stiff brush or piece of tape.
Storage
Store empty in a cool, dry place with the top lid laying flat. Hang by the top grab handle on a hook or peg to keep the back panel from getting crushed under other gear.
