The Rebels Pennington The Rebels Sun and Shade Grass Seed Mix 20 Pounds

When your lawn has a mix of sunlight and shade, The Rebels Brand from Pennington delivers the premium performance homeowners have trusted for decades. Ideal for northern and transition zones, this cool-season blend combines the toughness, drought resistance, and deep roots of turf-type tall fescue with the versatility to thrive in varying light conditions. It also includes perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass for added durability and quick establishment. It’s built with thick, deep, and dense roots that grow up to 40 percent more than ordinary grass, providing excellent drought tolerance and disease resistance. This 3-lb. bag covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. for overseeding an existing lawn and 333 sq. ft. for starting a new lawn from scratch. Plant it in early spring or fall, and you’ll see results in 8 to 21 days. The roots of The Rebels Brand date back to 1979, when turf researchers at Rutgers University introduced the original 'Rebel'—the first turf-type tall fescue known for its finer texture, darker color, lower growth, and improved drought tolerance. Today, Rebels Sun & Shade continues that legacy with an advanced blend designed to handle both sunny and moderately shady areas. With roots like those, it’s only natural that The Rebels Brand carries the Pennington name.
